Do I have to approve a repair before work is done?
Yes. Diagnostic work may be performed as authorized, but repair work beyond an approved estimate is not intentionally performed without your approval.
What if the repair is not worth it?
You will be told. If the repair cost does not make sense for the value or condition of the system, replacement or data-transfer options can be discussed instead.
